TARGET PRODUCTS and PLATFORMS
The standard MIRLIN SDK has been compiled for Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server applications. It can be specified for .NET 2003 or .NET 2005 development environments. There is a simple but flexible API which permits developers to access a range of diagnostics, that can later be omitted for improved speed in the release version of the application.
On a typical PC with 2.0 GHz Core-duo processor, and 1GB DDR RAM, a typical application can achieve template creation in excess of 15 image frames per second. Match speeds are around 450k per second for single template matches.
For Windows CE and Windows Mobile devices and embedded systems, we will create an application DLL for your target device that mirrors the standard API available in the PC version. Your developers can then make simple function calls to build your end-user iris recognition application.
Typical operating speeds to be expected are around 2 seconds (or faster) for image segmentation and template creation, and a match speed of several tens of thousands per second. Of course, the end result will be very much determined by the nature of the CPU, its clock speed and memory availability. Please call us for advice about specific targets.
